All of the Kingstown team would like to offer congratulations to Danny Maggs, who has recently been appointed as our new Area Sales Manager for the North East and Yorkshire. As the longest current serving member of the team, Danny has been a part of the Kingstown team for an impressive 20 years, originally joining the company as a delivery driver.
“This new appointment is my dream job,” comments Danny. “I’ve always been passionate about the company’s ethos, values and approach, so to move into the sales team and learn about this side of the business is a new direction for me that represents a really exciting challenge.”
After recently returning from his first AIS show in Solihull last month, Danny’s enthusiasm and extensive experience with Kingstown is evident, coming a long way from where he began as a delivery driver singing along to Paul Weller. “My main aim is to succeed, and I’m really looking forward to getting out and about and meeting our clients in person.”
Having been a member of the team for two decades, Danny has seen Kingstown grow and evolve and, with Brexit around the corner, he understands the increasing importance of buying British. “I have seen such a growth and transition over the years. We started out as bedroom furniture, and due to the popularity of our ranges we have extended the collections into both living and dining room. The company never sits still because we endeavour to deliver the best service possible. We listen to the needs and wants of our customers and clients and provide quality support from factory to floor to delivery.”
Danny is quick to emphasise that there is one core element that keeps the Kingstown team running: teamwork. “Working for a family business, there is a great sense of familiarity and a pride in delivering top quality products and service. Everyone knows everyone, and you are not just a number here so what you do really matters. Everyone is so invested in what they do, and there is a strong, collective drive to keep pushing ourselves to improve our service for clients and customers. That’s the Kingstown way, and that’s what is so special about being a part of the team. If I had to sum up our team’s values in three words, they would have to be: professional, committed and passionate.”
