As a family-owned British furniture manufacturer, we’re proud of our local roots in Hull, so we’re committed to engaging with our local community and supporting the hard work of businesses based in Hull and the wider region at every opportunity. One of the ways we do this is through partnerships and collaborations that achieve something special, so we’re proud of our continued work with Kexgill, one of the UK’s largest and still privately-owned providers of high quality, student accommodation.
Kexgill is also headquartered in Hull but operates in eight other locations across the U.K. Having recently opened a Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars themed house in Hull for its music-mad tenants, their eye for style and innovative, fresh approach to their student properties makes Kexgill and Kingstown the perfect match.
Students are certainly more discerning these days and Kexgill focus a lot of attention to detail to how they design their properties. We’re proud to support them by using our manufacturing knowledge and experience to ensure their tenants have the most robust and stylish furniture available. Every piece of furniture we’ve supplied has been made-to-order from our factory in Hull to ensure Kexgill tenants have furniture that meets and then exceeds their storage and living requirements.
“Even though we own and let hundreds of properties throughout the country, we never compromise on quality or style, so we were looking for the best contemporary furniture for our tenants,” Richard Stott, Managing Director at Kexgill says.
“We approached Kingstown knowing their size and national operations would be a great fit for our bespoke student living range. Quality, flexibility and delivery has been excellent. A reliable partner for our expansion programme has been essential, and Kingstown have certainly fulfilled that role. Another bonus is they are really easy to deal with, nice people!”
This working process begun by us visiting a Kexgill property to envision the project, and see how the students live. From there, we designed a collection of furniture which was both design led and functional to ensure it would meet the specific needs of the students, which included storage and study space in on-trend finishes. For added convenience, we’ve placed motion activated lights in all of our bedside tables. Oak tops compliment many of the Cashmere pieces for the perfect finish.
Kexgill is a dynamic business that is constantly evolving and expanding, so our fleet of Kingstown trucks will shortly be en route to Nottingham to deliver a whole host of new furniture for their extensive portfolio in time for their tenants arriving back in September—we’re confident that they’ll be well-received!
We provide tailored furniture solutions for a variety of different sectors and take great pride in the quality and delivery of our work.
