Demand for Kingstown Furniture leads to exciting new expansion

We pride ourselves on the great relationships we have with our suppliers, so when Atkinsons of Sheffield approached us with the task of designing and branding an entirely new area in their store to support the growth of Kingstown products, we jumped at the opportunity! 

Atkinsons is an independent, family-owned department store located in Sheffield. We’ve been working with Atkinsons for a number of years, but the last 12 months in particular have seen a significant increase in sales of Kingstown products in store. 

Working with suppliers to bring furniture collection to life 

Working to complement the natural layout of the store and taking into account the measurements of the pieces of furniture already on display in the showroom, we’re applying all of our design expertise to transform this blank canvas into an eye-catching, engaging space that’s full of Kingstown character and showcases how the style and colour palette of our ranges combine to present our collection. 

Dressing the Kingstown area of Atkinsons was a carefully planned process with a number of steps. First, we needed to decide which ranges should be kept on display and which ones should be replaced to best suit the aesthetics of the space. The selected pieces already in store were then measured and so that we could plan out where they might fit.

 To fill the remaining space, we’ve handpicked a collection of furniture from our best-selling ranges, which were unveiled at the January Furniture Show and took our time to make the right choices when it came to selecting paints and soft-furnishings to create the best possible complementary environment to emphasise the stand-out features of each piece on show. 

Turning a blank canvas into a creative experience for customers 

With so many big pieces, such as wardrobes and chests on display, it was important to utilise the space wisely, so we decided to create more interest and differentiate the pieces from each other effectively the installation of two free standing walls, we found that this added interest and enhanced the customer journey around the showroom. 

We’re currently working with staff at Atkinsons to make sure this area is as practical as it is aesthetically impactful. We want our showroom at Atkinsons to be an experience for their customers, and it was important to ensure that every step of the design process was carefully planned out in detail to meet the demands and requirements of not just ourselves and Atkinsons, but most importantly: our customers!
